Deadman Bed
Deadman Bed is the pseudonym of Jackson Taylor - a solo artist based in Glasgow, UK. He was previously part of rock bands Wake and The Science and also the hard to classify theonewhoflew, (the latter two of which were on the now-defunct label Wickerman Records).
He released his debut album Please Try on Trick Track Lift in July 2006 and the follow up We Live For Thick Sunlight And Cold Snow Air was released in December 2007. A third set titled A Red Square EP came close on the heels and was followed in January 2008 by Breach Of The Peach / Sinus Of The Times, a collection of early experimental recordings. This tied up a back catalogue of unreleased material.
In 2008 he was in the process of recording one album, when circumstances forced him to divert his attention onto another. After several years, the second of the two The Sigh & The Song was completed and finally released in early 2011. This marked a real progression from his earlier work - retaining the home recorded aesthetic but using multiple tracks to weave a far richer sonic tapestry. Meanwhile, the other album Nobody Can Hear The Symphonies In My Mind entered musical limbo, where it still hangs in a semi-finished state...

It started life as a set of rough acoustic recordings - the documentation of a bunch of long-standing but as-yet unrecorded songs. Slowly it grew arms and legs, and little by little the acoustic guitar was replaced with electric, synth and electronic drums. The resultant album is without doubt the most solid and engaging body of work in the Deadman Bed oeuvre.

In 2007, ten friends grouped together to create an album, each recording one song. The result was Zero Kelvin, a perhaps surprisingly cohesive record, united by the dark current running through the majority of the tracks.

His second album is less conceptual than Please Try but it is bigger in scope, moving into full length territory. The arrangements are generally more ambitious, notably "You Don't Have To Believe Me" and "You Only Exist Now In My Dreams".

The debut release from the solo artist was mostly recorded at the end of 2003 but due to other commitments took a while to be completed. It is the tale of a love won and then lost, but told backwards.
